Freddy, You dear lady are an amazing woman. You are light in a dark world. You are wise, diligent and inspiring. Thank you that you count it all joy---or rather honor. You are a strong spokeswoman for the Lord. I am honored to have read this. Thank you Rita

This story is heartbreaking..We are so fortunate to live in the USA and have freedom to have homes, food and a parent or parents to take care of us. I know there are a lot of children here that are going to bed hungry and living in neighborhoods that are so dangerous..Love your children, pray for those abroad and here at home that are suffering each day of their young lives.

Such a beautiful tribute to a praying Mother! I did not know her but was touched by her writing (about her son) and also by this tribute to her prayer life.

May God help me to be the intercessor that I want to be for my family.

Please pray for my children and grandchildren.

Thank you for this devotion, I needed to be reminded that God is God and will do whatever pleases him, but we are still called to pray and ask.

Beautifully written Nancy! I will miss Pat greatly. She always called me "Baby"....just like a "Mama" would to the ones she loved. I remember, shortly after Pat became sick, she called me while I was in a grocery store. She wanted to share with me a prayer request... not for herself- but for someone she loved. And then she asked me how I was! She never mentioned her needs! After a few minutes of conversation, I hung up to continue my errand. While I pushed the cart in an ordinary way, through an ordinary aisle of ordinary items, passing ordinary people- it occured to me- I just had a conversation with an extraordinary sister who had an extraordinary way of making me feel loved. "Her Lord said unto her, Well done, good and faithful servant".

I have only known Pat for just over a year, although it feels like so much longer. Pat was someone you could bond to very quickly - and that I did. She was open, tender, loving, always cheerful, and always honest. It was a priveledge to pray for and beside Pat. She never said a prayer that didn't come from deep inside her heart. I know Pat prayed for my children even before she got to meer them and I am sure she prayed for them for as long as she could muster the strength.

The last time she was at RIZPAH before getting sick, we all exchanged 3x5 cards with each other. On one card, we had prayer requests for a loved one and on the second, we had a request for ourselves. All the cards were put in a pile and we randomly took 2 cards - one from each category. On that day, Pat had gotten my card. When we came back together, the option was put forth to get both cards for the same person if we would like to exchange cards. Pat clutched my card to her chest and proclaimed "I'm keeping Freddy's card. I want Freddy's." She then looked at me, came over, gave me a big hug and said, "I'm going to pray for you. We're a kindred spirit." I have no doubt that she is now face to face with God and still pleading for us... for everyone she loves.

She was an amazing woman. She stood on mountaintops and kept the birds from all our children....
