From Kibera to Brussels

Brussels is about 4000 miles northwest of Kibera, but the two places are really a million miles apart. Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the headquarters of the European Union. Kibera is located in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, and is the largest slum in Africa. Recently we spent two weeks in Kenya, much of that time in and near Kibera, after which we retuned to the States via Brussels. As our flight was delayed and our connection missed, we found it necessary to spend a night in the city. We caught the train into Brussels and spent the afternoon touring the city. It was a wonderful end to a wonderful trip.
