How We Started

In March of 2003, while praying with her husband and another couple for their prodigal sons, Nancy Johnson felt the Holy Spirit calling her to a deeper level of prayer for her lost son, Caleb.  She was prompted to be like Rizpah in the Bible.  Nancy saw that her son was as dead spiritually as Rizpah’s sons were physically.  Knowing that Satan desired to devour Caleb’s soul she realized that she must take up the battle and be faithful in intercession before the Throne of Grace for him. She focused on Jesus and His power to bring her son from death to life.  She also pled with Jesus for his protection against demonic spirits.  After months of praying like this, she was led to share this with three other mothers and ask if they would like to join with her.

RIZPAH was birthed in March of 2004 when the first group of mothers met to intercede for the salvation and protection of their children.   Since that time the RIZPAH mothers have met weekly. After months and now years of praying together this group of women experience a wonderful bond with each other and a deep love for those for whom they pray.

On November 13, 2007, the Lord did what only He can do:  He delivered Caleb from the grasp of the enemy, bringing him from death to life in Jesus Christ.

RIZPAH faithfully continues in prayer for Caleb and many others.

RIZPAH incorporated and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry in 2007.
